Summer Summer Summer Time!

Time to whip out the pools and bbq grills

You survived another school year. Now you just need to survive the summer holidays. Schools out for the summer. You know who’s happy? Teachers! You know who is gutted teachers that are parents! What a life!!

Hola mis amigos! Welcome back to another blog. No I’m not here to blog ten days in a row but I do intend to do one blog for each week we’re off school. (I’m now two weeks behind because I forgot to click publish on this post!)

This is my first summer as a mom with a blended family and man oh man it’s different in these streets. I’m literally singing, my life is not my ownnnnnn! From one summer to the next however I’m living and learning. Trial and error.. Hence why this summer I’m sharing tips on my instagram page for the parent who needs a little inspiration to get them through the summer madness.

Just remember life isn’t perfect all that is required is that we try each day to be a better version of ourselves. This summer I’m practicing balance. What do you mean Kamille? I’m learning how to focus on my different roles without leaning too heavy on one side: be unproductive because I’m afraid to take a step or being too overly ambitious. Less than a year a go I got married and within this time period, I’ve started a business which stemmed from the book I wrote, I resigned from my job to go back to school for a year and I’m learning to mother two children that are not biologically my own. That’s quite an undertaking and I’m not gonna lie some days I feel a bit overwhelmed and so I pause to pray and try to live simply! That’s what I do to keep it all together.

That’s how I intend to make it through the summer and that’s how i intend to survive and thrive in this next chapter of my life.

So how are you and how are you managing this summer if you’ve got young kids or even more interesting, teenagers?

Here’s 5 things you can do with your kiddos this week. Remember we are simplifying life so one activity each day.

  1. Go to the library
  2. Visit a local museum
  3. Go to the park
  4. Movie night at home
  5. Baking or cooking

Use this time with your kids to reconnect, to unwind, to hone in on behaviour that needs correcting and form new healthy habits. I needed a reminder to use this time as a blessing and not see each day as daunting and something I need to get through so I’m sharing this thought to inspire you to do the same.

Talking about inspired, I have a new logo. So in the coming weeks and months when you see my usernames or handles change or a different picture emerge, it’s still me just a different look.

As usual thank you for coming along on this journey and I wish you fun, rest and an amazing summer 2026!

Until next time from my crew and I…

Besos😘
