Chronicles of an Inspired Single Mom

Hello beautiful people! In a world filled with chaos and confusion, today I come bearing good news. I come to add some spice, some inspiration, some sunshine to your day. I hope you are doing well and if you’re not, you still have life and thus there is still an opportunity to make things better.

So the other morning during my regular school run, my son decided to play the song – Lord you are good by Israel Houghton (click link to listen to the song) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KiQDoWo5t4 I asked him, how do you that God is good. He started giving me generic answers so I dug deeper and asked him how he knew that God was good to him. You could see the motors turning over in his head by the hard look of concentration on his face…but he had nothing🫠 I jumped in and started showing him how God was good to him, making it relevant to what he would understand and now recognise as God’s goodness in his life.

This conversation reminded me of a day when I was feeling blah and just didn’t know why. I could’ve had some ice cream, stay miserable for the rest of the day, watch something rachet on tv etc but I took up my bible and man I’m telling you what I read that day, it blessed my whole soul. In my journal I began writing who God was to me just from what I read in that scripture.

I am grateful that I serve a God who I don’t have to carry but who carries me!

I am honoured or favoured to have a God who does not fit in my small hands, but who holds me, embraces me, my children, my partner, my family and friends in his infinite hands. THANK YOU LORD

I am glad I serve a God whose burdens I don’t have to bear but who bears my burdens. He is my burden bearer.

I’m glad that I serve a God that I didn’t have to make or buy (clock it👀)but who made me and said “Kamille I made you fearfully and wonderfully!”

I am glad that I serve a mighty God, whom I don’t have to carry into battles but who fights my battles for me

I am glad I serve a God who does not occupy space on a mantle, but who hears me when I call, gets off his throne and comes to my rescue.

I am glad that there is no other God like my God (this is repeated many times in Isaiah chapter 45-50) He is God and does everything well.

I am glad that despite my past hiccups and my present flaws, I serve a God who loves me unconditionally and gives me an honourable name.

Who is God to you? If you don’t know my Heavenly Father today is a good day to get to know him. Outside of religion and tradition. Outside of your limited understanding. Get to know my Heavenly Father who sent His one and only son to die for your sins so you can have an abundant life.

That’s my encouragement for you today. So tell me…who is God to you? Why do you consider Him good?
