Chronicles of an Inspired Single Mom

So you clicked cause you wanna know who’s this girl that’s willing to talk about her life for the world to read and scrutinize …or as Caribbean people would say” put you biznezz dey a door”

HA! Hey guys I’m Kamille a joker at heart, lover of nature and most important to me a Child of God. Some of my closest friends call me Kam or Tasha. I am 32 years old(ahhhhhhh ya girl is getting oldddddd) and I live in Birmingham England with my two children Dinyka and Amir. (pretty basic stuff huh) I would describe my disposition as the sunniest summer day or the thunderstorm that crashes out of nowhere(I’m a work in progress, trust!). But one thing for sure I’m the person you can run to for support, if you need a listening ear and be assured there’s no judgement here or if you need help with a project; whatever it is I got you! I love people and care dearly for those whom God have placed in my life for whatever season or reason.

Originally I hail from a Caribbean island that is very tranquil, with the most breathtaking, mountain ranges and scenic views one has ever seen; Montserrat, where everything nice! (sorry I’m biased but if you travel there you’ll agree with me) Anyways I digress!

I’m the youngest of 8 children (for my dad) and 2 (for my mom) either way I’m the baby of the family! Even though with so many siblings I can be a bit of a loner because I love my space and quiet time ( which is hardly possible with a sometimes rambunctious 4 year old) I’ve got two bestfriends who have been with me through this journey of life from teen years to present…I no longer think of them as friends they are my sisters😘

So what does this girl do with her time? (Not a darn thing lol😆) Seriously though, before I use to live an extremely busy life moving from one hectic job to another. I started off my career as a Primary teacher then transitioned to the banking world for a short stint( teaching to banker…wait what?…trust that’s a story for another day…stick around and I’ll definitely spill the tea on that!). I was a volunteer and pretty active in my local church and community. I was a YES person. You needed something done, Kamille was your girl! I’ve recently earnt to say no and filter what and who I let into my space.( I was wearing myself thin yall and stressing out myself)

There was a hush in my life after I had my son and moved to England. It was difficult learning a new culture and balancing life with two children and essentially doing all of this on my own. Eventually I embraced my new norm and welcomed a slower pace of life for the first time since I’ve known myself but I took this too seriously and become very closed and shut off from the world and people around me. It was in the lockdown(well the first one i.e.) where I realised how disconnected I had indeed become and while I was busy being a mom, I was, or had lost who I was as an individual.

I remember a friend of mine asking me what do I do (outside of my children) I couldn’t answer that question. So I started to dig deep and rediscover past loves or hobbies and found new interests as well.

So my dear friend who may be reading this along with other readers I can say who Kamille is…she is a strong black woman, an overcomer of many obstacles, one who defies odds, the girl who loves writing poetry, binge watching different box sets and drinking wine, the one who loves dancing around the house to loud music or singing loudly in the shower but who gets butterflies and mild anxiety attacks to perform for an audience, she is a daughter a sister, a friend, the one who can be so organized one day and can’t remember where she put the pen the next day, the girl who falls asleep at a whim (lol my friends can attest to this) the one who fails and make many mistakes and the one who loves laying up in her bed. The girl who was afraid of change but now runs towards it…the one who at 32 is completing her degree whilst being a stay at home mom. I am all these things!

Now I can go on and on…but mamas gotta go…I got some chicken to go fry..so catch up to you guys in ma next post…you know it’ll be worth your while….ba byeeee(in my Kevin Hart voice🤣😂🤣😂✌)
